In collaboration with the Heart Center Duisburg, my teammate and I designed an interactive pavilion to educate the public about sudden cardiac death and how to respond in an emergency. We developed the arcade game Cardio Adventure, a two-player experience where players guide their characters safely through each level, avoiding health risks that could lead to sudden cardiac death. If a character collapses, the second player must perform CPR on a mannequin version of the character, guided by on-screen instructions.
By combining gameplay with real-life emergency procedures—known as gamification—we created an engaging way to raise awareness across all age groups.
Cardio Adventure was developed in 2012 by Christopher Potrawa and Dominik Metz under the direction of Prof. Erich Schöls
